"My Marathon" in October

Through the month of October Tania, Kate, Melissa, Emily and Amanda are going to be raising money for the Heart Foundation by participating in My Marathon. They are aiming to run (or possibly walk) 42.2 km over 31 days. You can check out their progress in person at Barossa Physiotherapy's team page here, or by following Barossa Physiotherapy on Instagram (barossaphysiotherapy) or Facebook (@barossaphysio).

Ischaemic heart disease was the leading cause of death in 2016 and compromised 12% of all deaths. The money raised goes to the Heart Foundation who support people with heart disease by helping to fund research, developing guidelines for health professionals and to encourage Australians to live healthier lifestyles and improve heart health.

Tania, Kate, Melissa, Emily and Amanda will also be improving their own heart health by increasing their physical activity. Other ways to improve your heart health include not smoking, managing your blood pressure and cholesterol, managing diabetes, being physically active, eating healthy and looking after your mental health. If you would like to learn more about your heart health you can do this through the heart foundation website.

If you would like to support Tania, Kate, Melissa, Emily and Amanda raise money for the heart foundation you can do this by donating via their My Marathon page here or in person at Barossa Physiotherapy.

If you're feeling inspired by our efforts (and trust us, for some the idea of running is a MIGHTY effort) you could sign up to My Marathon yourself and complete your own My Marathon journey, raising funds for the heart foundation and improving your own heart health.
