Melissa hails from the spectacular Eyre Peninsula where she worked in her own private physiotherapy practice after graduating from Uni SA with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Physiotherapy. Melissa and her family made the big move from the west coast in 2010, and has called the Barossa home since she started with us here at Barossa Physiotherapy .
As a rural physio, Melissa believes you become a bit of a "Jack of All Trades", as often you are the only health professional around. She completed a Graduate Certificate in Rural and Remote Physiotherapy through Uni SA in 1997, and has been continually broadening her skills since then.
Recently, she has taken on a "Vestibular" focus, with additional skills in assessing and treating dizziness/vertigo and balance disorders. Melissa also has an interest in pain science, and Persistent Pain (sometimes called "chronic" pain).
She is one of our class instructors for floor-based rehab and also balance, and can assist with exercise rehab for all ages.
On her days off, Melissa likes to get into her acre of garden, and try and tame nearly 200 roses. She also enjoys music, and although her parents spent a small fortune on piano lessons for her, she is most proud of her proficiency with "the spoons".
