Not quite but the research is showing that we could be doing things a little better.
There is evidence to suggest that ICE may not be beneficial to injuries at all. A long-held belief does not always mean it is right! We do know that ice can "numb" things a little, so it is still okay to use ice as a pain management strategy - but maybe just for 5-7 minutes at a time.
Also, compression IS important. So we have found this cool new acronym via the British Journal of Sports Medicine here, that we hope might catch on, and have made it into an infographic.
